Contemporary Paintings by Barbara Kay Herring

The public is cordially invited to the exhibit and opening reception of contemporary paintings by Barbara Kay Herring.  Ms. Herring , a Chicago based artist, will be exhibiting her recent works at the historic Palette & Chisel Academy of Art, from September 20 through September 29. 

Following the opening reception, the artist will be at the Palette & Chisel on September 21, 22, 28 and 29 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.  

The exhibition features images of Chicago and other locations expressed in oil, watercolor and cold wax. Responding to people in iconic urban images, the artist’s work expresses the energy and dynamic living in a bustling environment.  Riders on Chicago’s El, lonesome alleys, bikes in New York city,  crowds on bridges and barns in South Carolina offer an appreciation for an engaged life. This is the artist’s third solo show. Her work has been featured in group shows at the Palette & Chisel, Woman Made Gallery, and currently has work hanging at the Coffee Studio, Chicago, IL.

Barbara Kay Herring is a member of the Palette and Chisel Academy, the Plein Air Painters Chicago and the Urban Sketchers of Chicago.
