Iota Centauri Finds Out!: Exploring Space through Drag & Video Art

Friday, Apr 12, 2019 7:15 – 8 pm

Two Show Times: 7:15-8:00 and 8:15-9:00

Admission is free but the whole thing costs about $300 to put together, and half of proceeds go to the gallery, so donations are appreciated although not enforced.

On 4.12.2019, first bits of information about the first human spaceflight (Gagarin, USSR, 4.12.1961) will reach Iota Centauri, an A-type-main-sequence star located only 58 light years away.

Celebrate with Iota Centauri on Earth in this omnimedia performance piece by Dania C4e and Galina Shevchenko that will make you OD on soviet space culture. We explore possibilities buried in discarded human experience, by salvaging soc-realist utopian songs through drag, punk, and video art.

The piece is intended for all humans, although large portions of performance are in Russian and may involve graphics and ultraviolet.
