Material Woman: Contemporary Reflections of a Female Icon

An investigation into how female identity is constructed and performed through the adornment of and presentation of the body. The artist sources Queen Elizabeth I as icon and utilizes her skill in traditional and nontraditional craft techniques to present contemporary jewelry, sculpture and works on paper that challenge cultural expectations of female behavior. The gallery exhibition will continue into the atrium.
