Established in Chicago in 1980, Printworks Gallery specializes in works on paper, including prints, original drawings, photography and artists’ books.
Although Printworks represents a large number of established artists, the gallery has also made a commitment to promote the work of important emerging artists.
Prints and drawings from Printworks have been placed in the permanent collectionsof major institutions around the world including the Tate Gallery in London, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Hirshhorn Museum, the Harvard Library, and National Museum of American Art in Washington DC, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Newberry Library, The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis and the Australian National Gallery, among others.
Printworks Gallery will reopen this fall (2017) with an exhibition of new gouache paintings by Nicholas Sistler on September 8.
Eight exhibitions (each two months in length) are scheduled through the end of 2018. Audrey Niffenegger, Nancy Spero and Robert Barnes will be among the featured artists.
Presently on view are works available from the collection of Sidney and Hanna Block.
