Apprentice LAB is a free art mentoring program available to young Chicago artists. Five talented teens work in a professional art production business for 15 weeks, engaging in independent and group projects while building career readiness skills. Teens develop self-reliance and professional attitudes through one-on-one instruction. Communication, leadership and time management techniques are demonstrated as teens explore their artwork in new ways.
• Open to all College & HS Students
• 5 Scholarships available per term
• Classes 2x per week for 15 weeks
• 3 scholarship cycles per year
Apprentices are encouraged to explore on their own while learning hands on techniques from their instructor and other teens. The program concludes with the apprentices organizing, promoting and hosting a public exhibition of their work.
