FLXST Contemporary is a contemporary fine arts and photography gallery in Chicago’s South Loop. We exhibit highly-evocative and uncompromising artwork by emerging and mid-career artists working across all visual mediums. The gallery works with and represents mainly diasporic, immigrant artists, LGBTQ-identified artists, and artists of color based in Chicago and in other parts of the country. We work tirelessly for the success of our artists to help their art practice thrive.
The artwork on view at the gallery engages viewers to think, act, and to consider the work for their collections. Acquiring artwork produced by the artists represented at FLXST Contemporary supports and nourishes their creativity and continued artistic practice. We represent artists who are often underrepresented in the art world, even though they continue to work tirelessly to gain a foothold within it. We believe in their abilities to transform the art world to be more inclusive and forward-thinking.
Opening receptions are generally held from 5:30–8pm on the Saturday before show opens to the public.
