FLXST Contemporary

FLXST Contemporary is a fine arts gallery in Chicago’s Near South Side’s Motor Row District. We exhibit highly evocative and uncompromising artwork by emerging and mid-career artists working across all visual mediums. The gallery represents and exhibits the work of BIPOC (black, indigenous, people of color) artists, LGBTQ+ artists, and immigrant and diasporic artists based in Chicago and in other parts of the country. These artists produce thoughtful, aesthetically driven, and timely work. We work tirelessly for the success of our artists to help their art practice thrive.
FLXST Contemporary puts artists, their vision, energy, and their conceptual power first. The artwork showcased at the gallery engages viewers to think, act, and consider the works in the exhibitions for their collections. We represent artists who are often underrepresented in the art world, even though they continue to work tirelessly to gain a foothold within it. We vet each of our artists holistically and believe in their abilities to transform art collections and institutions to be more inclusive and forward-thinking. FLXST Contemporary functions as a creative space to amplify these artistic voices.
