The Martin is an artist-first community space located in West Town. The Martin is a queer, woman-owned space that shares a home with Split-Rail, a beloved neighborhood restaurant. The Martin highlights emerging women, LGBTQIA+ & BIPOC artists and is also the home for a variety of events including private dinners, performances, open mics and more.
Established originally in 2018, The Martin reemerged post-quarantine as a gallery first space after losing their original Humboldt Park home due to COVID-19. The Martin aims to serve the queer community on the west side and to highlight and uplift emerging artists throughout Chicago.
As of 2022 they have begun artist representation. Visit our website for more details.
The Martin is a part of a three company queer, woman-owned building at 2500 W. Chicago Avenue. In addition to The Martin gallery, we share a space with the Split-Rail restaurant and are located directly above Dorothy, a seventies-inspired queer cocktail lounge.
