Established in 2009 and located in the upcoming arts district in downtown Batavia, IL, Water Street Studios is a 501(c)3 nonprofit art center with a mission to make the arts more accessible to the Fox Valley region and beyond.

Every year Water Street Studios provides the following 24 exhibitions every year in the Dempsey Family Gallery located on the first floor and the Chicago Capital Gallery located on the second floor; 26 subsidized studios for working artists; hundreds of art classes, workshops, and off-site programming in a wide variety of both 2D and 3D mediums for all ages; over 4,000 free art sessions through after-school STEAM learning programs for elementary school students, and dozens of public and private events in the 16,000 square foot historic venue.

Join us for our monthly events that include: Opening Receptions on the second Friday of every month. Live Art Series events showcasing performance art in the Dempsey Family Gallery on the fourth Friday of every month. Open Sketch on the last Sunday of every month to create artwork in the company of others, and Waterline Writers on the third Sunday of every month featuring live readings by published and working writers.
