CGN has been in print since 1982. An independent publication and woman-owned business from the start, our small yet efficient team operates with a focus on supporting art collectors and engaging readers with the arts. Our editorial coverage includes today’s working artists alongside profiles of active art collectors and the region’s top art dealers and cultural leaders. We aim to open doors and invite the public into this fascinating creative world. CGN’s unique interviews with Chicago’s top art dealers, art- ists, and collectors help our mission of sustaining and promoting a thriving arts community throughout the Midwest.

CGN consists of three print editions and chicagogallerynews.com, featuring more than 120 paid listings of galleries and arts institutions. CGN also offers listings to art-related businesses and collector resources, arts non-profits and alternative spaces, artist studios, and art centers.

What began as a four-page black and white pamphlet in 1982 is now a multi-issue publication and digital platform. We are always building on CGN’s foundation as a keeper of the city’s art history, a voice for members of the art community and an unparalleled resource for those who want to collect and explore art in Chicago and the region.
