On Friday, January 30 many Chicago galleries will be closed as they join a call for a nationwide shutdown. Participating galleries as of this posting time are listed below. The movement calls for a nationwide day of no school, no work and no shopping as organizers of the general strike have asked people not to purchase anything on January 30 in order to create an economic blackout as well as a chance for people join the day's local protests against ICE.

As this is an evolving event, the list of galleries that will be closed Friday may change, so please check with individual businesses to see if they are open or not. Most plan to re-open Saturday, January 31, 2026.
