Please join Paris London Hong Kong for Reps, a solo exhibition with recent paintings by Amadeo Morelos. 

The exhibition opens on Friday, April 19th with a reception from 5-8pm and continues through June 1st, 2019.

Amadeo Morelos’ recent paintings depict grotesque figures pleading for sympathy and acclaim. Using humor and absurdity, he re-configures autobiographical symbols and the visual language of bodybuilding culture and Greek mythology to suffuses the mundane with fantastical proportions. As canvas is substituted with fabric reminiscent of posing trunks, these paintings recall an incomplete body that is built through external expectation.

Amadeo Morelos lives and works in Morelia, Mexico. Recent solo and group exhibitions include Comfort Station (Chicago, IL), the Chicago Show (Brooklyn, NY), Quinto Piso (Mexico City), Heaven Gallery (Chicago, IL) and Palacio Clavijero (Morelia, Mexico). From 2017-18 he co-directed at GreenDoor, an artist-run space in Chicago.
