Art Encounter's Night Vision: Sculptor Jill King

Next Thursday, artist Jill King will welcome us into her studio, where she creates organically-shaped sculptures by manipulating metal armature into three-dimensional organic forms that she covers with stretched fabric and a wide range of materials. Often these sculptures appear to float in space, evoking an ethereal quality. Jill teaches mixed media sculpture, drawing, and painting classes at Fusion Academy, the Evanston Art Center and The Art Center of Highland Park. She is also a member of the artist collective Space 900, and has led multiple programs for Art Encounter. We will discover what motivates the work that Jill has been making during the pandemic and enjoy a LIVE demonstration of her sculptural process.
