
The public is invited Thursday, May 14th; 6-9 PM at Gallery VICTOR (300 W. Superior St; Chicago IL 60654) to a special evening featuring a sneak preview of a work-in-progress excerpt from the upcoming film, Art Shay: An America So Real. The evening will include an exhibition and silent auction of rare, signed photographs by Art Shay, as well as film contributors Pete Souza, Richard Shay and Sandro Miller to help finance the last stages of the film. There will be a short introduction by Mary Wisniewski, author of Algren. A conversation with the filmmakers will follow. Scheduled for release in early 2027, the feature-length documentary introduces audiences to the extraordinary life and work of one of the most important, yet under-recognized, photographers of the 20th century. We invite you to be a part of bringing this Chicago legend and powerful American story to the big screen. Filmmakers are available for interviews and appearances upon request.
