Art Speaks

Saturday, Aug 17, 2019 12 – 1 pm

Catherine Edelman Gallery is thrilled to launch its newest program, Art Speaks, that takes place in the gallery every second Saturday from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. This new year-round initiative invites local writers and poets to read pieces they have written based on the theme present in the exhibition on view, providing a venue for local writers to share their work. Our goal is to encourage and stimulate creative expression in an interdisciplinary setting, offering an opportunity for local creatives to collaborate and form connections.

The first event in the series will be held on Saturday, August 17 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm.

CEG is hosting nine writers who will read pieces based on the theme Past is Present in conjunction with our current exhibition featuring the work of Tami Bahat. This immersive exhibition includes photography placed into Victorian-styled rooms that transport the viewer to a different era. Join us on August 17 to hear work by Annah Browning, Claire Finch, Daniel Barton, Katya Kulik, Natania Rosenfeld, Noa/h Fields, Sahar Mustafah, Stefania Gomez, and Thalia Mostow Bruehl for this exciting new venture which promises to be both inspiring and educational. The work being read will range from poetry to fiction, experimental to narrative. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
