BODY [ ] SPACE
If the eye were an animal, sight would be its soul
- Aristotle
BODY [ ] SPACE is a group exhibition exploring the relation of the body to internal and external space. Works feature a breadth of expressions of the body, its spatial occupancy, its experience, and its absence. The viewer is challenged to consider what it means to inhabit a body, and to step into another’s experience.
The works shown are interrogative, not conclusive. They ask the viewer to include their own experiences in relation to what is exhibited: humor, historical reference, illusion, abstraction, and relation to the environment.
