Hello all and happy almost summer! My auction is next week on Thursday, June 5that 10AM. This is surely the most exciting art auction to date since I started working here at Potter & Potter. In each category there are stellar lots. You can click here to look through the catalog. Make sure you register if you want to bid. Questions? aron@potterauctions.com and details are below.
The first 70 lots are related to a collection of Charles and Ray Eames design material. A few drawings by Eames, blueprints and presentation fabric samples by Alexander Girard for Herman Miller, a Noguchi table shipped to Charles Eames and two matching Sofa Compacts with Girard fabric. Within the collection that came with this group are also 11 prints by Harry Bertoia, a major work on panel and another on paper by Hans Hofmann. I can go on and on ... Keane paintings, Niffenegger, Mesple, Fitzpatrick, Joseph Delaney, Duckworth, Wirsum, Jacobsen, Golub, Warhol, and Philip Turner (sort of a male Vivian Maier, undiscovered!, with hundreds of photographs in one lot and his Leica and Hasselblad cameras!).
In Fine Art there are small drawings by a Canadian regionalist, Samuel Huyghue, a classic farm landscape by Walter Parke (1945), a large group of stained glass and sketches for stained glass designs. In Outsider... Godie, Finster, Tolliver, Pierce, Sudduth and more. In Folk a complete mini circus, side show banners, a hook and ladder with great paint and many ladders, a battleship named "The Terror", canes, quilts, weathervanes and the list goes on! I'll stop now. Thanks for reading and looking!
