Cosmoculus: Solo Exhibition by Claire Ashley

Monday, Aug 23 – Oct 15, 2021

Cosmoculus features monumental air-filled sculptures and interactive experiences utilizing virtual reality, light, and sound. Exploring the notion of a dimensional painting, the allure of color, and the whimsical nature of art, Claire Ashley creates one-of-a-kind immersive environments. Viewers are encouraged to peer through translucent windows of the sculptures that reveal internal growths of painted and textured forms pulsating with color that blend seamlessly within the sea-like soundscape that reverberates throughout the gallery. Utilizing an Oculus headset, one can experience the psychedelic array of colors that envelop the viewer in a completely wonderful disorienting experience. Claire Ashley will present an artist lecture that will be open to the public on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 4:15 pm in the Peeler Art Center Auditorium.
