Columbia College Student Center  | RSVP here

On the occasion of the publication of his book Street Portraits, Dawoud Bey will join writer, musician, and producer Greg Tate in conversation followed by a book signing. Tate, who wrote the book’s corresponding essay, will present a glimpse into his thoughts on Bey’s 1988-1991 series, which focused on portraits of African Americans in various American cities through the lens of a large format tripod-mounted camera. Bey and Tate will also discuss Bey’s larger practice and coinciding solo exhibition at Stephen Daiter Gallery. Free of charge, masks and proof of vaccination required for entry. To reserve a copy of Dawoud Bey's Street Portraits for pick up at the conversation and book signing, please purchase here.
