Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) 2019

Join us as we celebrate the annual celebration of the Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead).

View ofrendas (small altars) honoring the lives of those who have passed before us constructed by local artists and organizations.

Enjoy music and dancing by local performers.

Participate in educational and entertaining children's activities.

Complimentary pan de muertos (sweet bread), hot chocolate, and champurrado.

Show your K-12 or University student ID to receive a free $5 voucher of use on site that evening while supplies last.

Free and all are welcome.

The event will again be celebrated at both the Crossroads Gallery of the ND Center for Civic Innovation (formerly the ND Center for Arts & Culture) and the Indiana University of South Bend Civil Rights Heritage Center. They are located across from each other on West Washington, in downtown South Bend.

Proposals to construct an ofrenda are due by October 5. Go to the webpage of the Crossroads Gallery for more information and to download an Ofrenda Form.
