The Evanston Art Center (EAC) is excited to welcome the public to our upcoming exhibition, Ellen Holtzblatt and Paula Menchen | Place and Passing. The exhibition will be on display from August 8 - September 6, 2026 with an opening reception on Sunday, August 9, 1-4pm that will be free and open to the public.

Place and Passing is a two-person exhibition that approaches landscape as shifting fields of memory, sensation, and emotion. Both artists draw from the transformative nature of their materials in constructed and deconstructed layers, revealing how the experience of place is carried within us and evolves through the act of creation.

Ellen Holtzblatt and Paula Menchen | Place and Passing will be exhibited in the First Floor Gallery of the Art Center. The opening reception is free and open to the public. This exhibition is partially funded by the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency, and the EAC’s general membership.
