On Friday, October 3rd, we will be having an exhibit opening for featured artist Debra Delbecq's show "Overspreading the Field." The opening will run from 4-7 PM and will display Debra's newest abstract landscape paintings, which are influenced by the viewpoint from her studio overlooking the fields outside. Debra's paintings are created using rhythm and repetition to provide energy and excitement in the work. Describing each piece as a quilted conversation, a way of taking the questions and feelings of a given moment and mingling them with inspiration from the outside world. This synthesis creates a new form, an imagined cosmic map or quilt on paper that coheres these disparate pieces into a grounding, geometrical structure.
