Painters capture the essence of water. Reflect upon the abstract shapes of color and light that shimmer on the surface. Artists in this exhibition blur the lines between representational and abstract approaches. They are open to seeing beyond the horizon, and are keenly aware of subtle shifts in color temperature, mood and atmosphere. Like the weather, the work conveys a variety of moods, which ranges from tranquil and calm to stormy. This exhibition addresses the fragile relationship humans have with water, our most precious natural resource. Forty percent of all revenue from sales will be donated to the Alliance for the Great Lakes.
