Evening Concert: In-Person Program 6:00 pm

On the heels of their recent commission/premiere at the Library of Congress, musical duo Flutronix — flutists Nathalie Joachim and Allison Loggins Hull — premieres their new work Black Being at The Arts Club. Inspired by Jaki Green Shelton’s poem, this evening-length piece gives voice to the complexities of black feminism, exploring themes of strength, sacrifice, beauty, fear and survival. Black Being is co-commissioned by The Arts Club and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

The music of Flutronix has been hailed as “…a unique blend of classical music, hip-hop, electronic programming and soulful vocals reminiscent of neo-R&B stars like Erykah Badu.” - Tad Hendrickson, The Wall Street Journal
