The main focus of the Food For Thought Exhibition is to heighten awareness of food insecurity. At least half of all proceeds will go directly to the C and W Foundation, an Evanston-based nonprofit that provides essential access to groceries. The still life genre illustrates portraits of edible subjects that tell stories of meals shared, community, and breaking bread together. This communal ritual is celebrated in paintings of food made from direct observation, which reveal tangible, poetic symphonies of color, shape and texture.
