Forbidden Pop-Up Books

This program will be held in-person at the Newberry.

Before they were made for children, pop-up books were made for adults. In this event led by Suzanne Karr Schmidt, curator of Pop-Up Books through the Ages, you’ll discover the surprisingly provocative content of pop-up books of the past.

This program is being held in conjunction with the Newberry exhibition Pop-Up Books through the Ages, generously supported by The National Endowment for the Arts, the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation, Professor James H.
