Vertical Gallery presents Chicago-based artist Grant William Thye for his second solo exhibition at the gallery.
Growing up on a farm in the Midwest, Grant William Thye’s work has been influenced by both Regionalism and the Chicago Imagists. Although usually not blatantly obvious, his work contains personal thoughts, ideas, and concepts. Between traditions and modernity, each one of his compositions oscillate between contemporary and ancestral culture. A large part of his subject matter still reflects the wide open spaces of his childhood responsible for shaping his temperament.
Grant William Thye’s work can be found in museums and private collections around the world.
