We are pleased to announce the opening of the Chicago gallery season on Friday, September 11th from 4pm to 7pm with two exquisite exhibitions.

In order to ensure the protection of our guests against the spread of Covid-19, we will be implementing a series of safety measures.

We have added an additional opening reception on Saturday, September 12th from 1pm to 4pm in attempt to alleviate over-crowding. During these receptions, standard guidelines including a mandatory mask and limited occupancy of the gallery spaces will be strictly enforced by gallery staff.

In the main gallery, Igor Kozlovsky & Marina Sharapova's Midnight Sun is a continuation of their 35 year history as a husband-and-wife collaborative. Each lend their specific talents with blends of hyper-realist figuration and intricate elements of abstraction. The blend of era and style nod to the traditions of painting while re-contextualizing iconography of the past.

The title, Midnight Sun, echoes the name of one of three ballets from Russian Seasons by Sergei Diaghilev. This particular piece was staged in Paris, 1915 during World War I; a particularly difficult time in Europe. The production was noted for its colorfulness and optimism. In this exhibition we have tried to capture the spirit of Midnight Sun and it's uplifting hope for the return of sunshine and the triumph of beauty, spirituality and humanism in the face of difficult times.

This current suite of paintings continue our adherence to cultural heritage in combination with modern painting techniques by combining classic figuration with the decorative richness and bold texture of the backgrounds. We hope that this exhibition can leave with you a small piece of summer as we await the long winter months ahead.
