Art historian and curator Faye Gleisser is the author of Risk Work: Making Art and Guerrilla Tactics in Punitive America, 1967–1987, which examines how and why artists have used guerrilla tactics in performance and conceptual art. For this talk, Gleisser draws on her expansive research and leans into the orbit of Ghislaine Leung’s exhibition. Shifting her frame of reference toward the present, she continues to explore risk-taking and vulnerability in artistic practices.
