Course Description
"Let’s Talk About Art" is an innovative hybrid learning program designed for older adults (ages 65+) to explore, celebrate, and discuss visual and performing arts. This program combines virtual and in-person experiences, fostering collaborations with prominent art organizations in Chicago. During the course of the program participants will engage with a specific performance or exhibit, culminating in creating their own art inspired by their experiences.

MoCP is a leading institution dedicated to photography, offering groundbreaking exhibitions and programming that foster dialogue about the role of photography in society.
About the Exhibition:
"Prospetto a Mare" by Dawit L. Petros examines the impact of Italian colonialism on visual culture, focusing on Chicago’s historical connections to Italian colonialism and exploring the legacy of these narratives.
November 11 (1pm - 2pm via Zoom): Introduction to the Museum of Contemporary Photography (MoCP), its mission, and history.
November 12 (1pm - 2pm via Zoom): Discussion on the exhibit exploring links between colonization, migration, and modernism, with a focus on Chicago’s visual culture and its ties to Italian fascism.
November 13 (1pm - 2pm in-person): Visit to the exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Photography.
November 14 (1pm - 2:30pm in-person): Art-making session at Hyde Park Art Center inspired by the exhibit.
