M_m<M and Noah Hanna Closing Talk

Friday, Aug 26, 2022 6 – 7 pm

864 N. Ashland Ave, Chicago, IL 60622

In conversation with exhibition curator Noah Hanna, M_m<M [they] (pronounced “M” or any combination of sounds produced from vocalizing three “Ms”) will discuss and expand on their research, professional experiences, and inspirations behind their Space Race: UNCLASSIFIED series included in the exhibition The Land Between The Sea at ENGAGE Projects.

M_m<M is an artist and former NASA photographer, and their photographs and found objects reveal facts obscured from the popularized history of American space exploration. Incorporating narratives, photography, and personal collections, M_m<M explores how space has served as a platform for colonialist fantasies, military expansionism, and national cultural identity. Don’t miss the last week to view the work! Gallery hours are Wed-Fri, 12-6 PM and by appointment. Click here or visit our website to find out more about this exhibition.
