Mara Baker is an installation artist who creates her works using found materials specific to life in the city: construction materials, fragments of urban infrastructure, discarded packaging, wire, plastic, etc. Her installations are visible day and night in well-lit storefronts or other visually accessible spaces.
In 2021 she was a resident artist at Spudnik Press in Chicago, where she created a series of monotypes which use the same visual language as her installation work. Created in several series, a selection of these prints make up this show.
