MARÍA: ¿Qué es un huracán?

Join us on October 30 at 5 PM at the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture for the opening of an exhibition exploring Hurricane María through the archive and lived experience of Puerto Rican chef, producer, and cultural organizer Manolo López.

Come learn how communities across Puerto Rico and its diaspora cooked, cared for one another, and organized when institutions failed—and why, nearly a decade later, Puerto Rico is still weathering another kind of hurricane: unreliable water and electricity, weakened public systems, and political decisions made without equal representation.

Together, we’ll reflect on what it means to survive, rebuild, and sustain the collective care that carries people forward.
