The first U.S. monographic museum exhibition since 2017 of Chinese American artist Martin Wong (1946–1999), Martin Wong: Chinatown USA traces the evolution of the queer painter’s deep engagement with Chinatowns in San Francisco and New York. Featuring more than 100 paintings, sculptures, drawings, and photographs, the exhibition reveals Wong’s singular vision of urban realism and his fascination with astrology, architecture, and language. The exhibition is curated by Yasufumi Nakamori, PhD, with Ashley Janke, Assistant Curator, Wrightwood 659, and is presented by Halsted A&A Foundation.
