Melanie Parke & Richard Kooyman

Anne Loucks Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of a new exhibition of landscape and interior still life paintings by Melanie Parke and Richard Kooyman. The show includes thirty-five recent paintings by the artists capturing the landscape, shorelines and interior settings in and around their Northern Michigan studios. Melanie's interior compositions combine brilliant color and pattern with familiar objects in settings that evoke a sense of comfort, nostalgia and pleasure.  Each of her paintings include her intuitive sense of space, mark making, color and light.  Richard's work is inspired by fleeting visual moments he observes on the Michigan shoreline and in forests that surround his studio.  With smooth, gestural brushwork and rich color he captures sunlit waters, dunes and tree lines, creating an emotional connection to a specific place in time. The show will be on view until April 30th.  Please stop in - we'd love to see you!
