We say goodbye to our well-loved exhibition, a massive historical and contemporary exploration of Chicago's design, land use, and ecological future.

Spanning all four floors of the house, this momentous exhibition brings together over 25 artists to trace Chicago’s design and land use from its indigenous roots to our contemporary urban landscape. Through maps, sculptures, multimedia works, and installations, the show confronts the reality of climate change and reimages our deeply complicated relationship with nature and the city we call home.

As Chicago faces the growing threats of climate change, Myth of the Organic City serves as a critical, physical space to reimagine our complicated, vital relationship with both the city and nature. Join us to celebrate the artists, wander through all four floors, grab a drink, and celebrate this vital conversation with the artists and neighbors as the doors close on this show’s final iteration.
