The new voices in nonfiction series from the University of Chicago’s Program in Creative Writing comes to the Smart Museum of Art with in-gallery readings by Joshua Rivkin and Michael Fischer. 

Rivkin is the author of two books, Chalk: The Art and Erasure of Cy Twombly(Melville House, October 2018) and Suitor (forthcoming Red Hen, 2020). His poems and essays have appeared in the New Yorker, Slate, Southern Review, Virginia Quarterly Review, and Best New Poets. Fischer is a candidate in the Master of Arts Program in Humanities at the University of Chicago. His essays appear or are forthcoming in The New York Times, Boston Globe Magazine, Salon, The Sun, Guernica, The Rumpus, and elsewhere.
