Night Visions returns this spring with after-hours visits and live demonstrations at exceptional artists’ studios! Treat yourself to an adventurous evening with Sarah Packer to meet with artists, explore their work, discover their artistic journeys, and view demonstrations of their craft.
On Thursday, May 23, join us at Rita Shimmelfarb’s charming Evanston home and studio, where we’ll discover her ethereally beautiful artworks in glass. Rita will explain how she pushes beyond traditional stained glass methods, combining glass painting with contemporary fused elements and dichroic glass to create vibrantly colored pieces. She’ll also share her personal history, including her immigration to the U.S. from the USSR in 1989 and her first experience seeing stained glass, a transformative moment in her artistic journey.
