Once Upon a Thursday: Author Readings

Join us on Zoom for the second offering of Lubeznik Center for the Arts's (LCA) new summer series, Once Upon a Thursday: Author Readings on June 24, from 6:30 – 7:30 PM (CST) with author Michael Fosberg. A Chicago native, Michael will be reading and performing excerpts from his award-winning autobiographical memoir called Incognito: An American Odyssey of Race and Self-Discovery. Using his story as an entry point for meaningful dialogue about race and identity, Michael has spoken at nearly a thousand high schools, colleges, government agencies, corporations, law firms, and not-for-profits since 2005. He has also told his story in the form of a one-man play and has recently launched a series of unique virtual e-learning programs employing his award-winning play by the same name.

Michael is also a frequent media guest, speaking on issues of race and identity. In his latest book, Nobody Wants to Talk About It: Race, Identity and the Difficulties in Forging Meaningful Conversations, Michael offers readers seven critical tools to engage in authentic dialogue. The last 15 minutes will be for Q&A.
