One State Together in the Arts 2020

September 29, 2020 - October 2, 2020

Welcome to One State Together in the Arts, the only statewide conference focused on creative professionals in Illinois.

Registration is officially open!  Please take a look around! In particular, check out:

Sessions with Limited Capacity:

  • Broad Strokes, Understanding our Creative Context*
  • Defining an Anti-Racist Arts Environment*

*If you or your organization are interested in joining either of these sessions, be sure to set a calendar reminder to register for both at 10am sharp.

The Theme: This year we are focused on providing you tools for rebuilding, revitalizing, and reimagining the future, with an understanding that the work can only be successful if it centers racial equity. We're also looking at how the arts and culture sector is interacting and intersecting with the current political moment in our country, and are providing lots of opportunities to be in community with others. Because one thing we all need right now, is connection to our community.

The Cost: The conference is free to attend, but not to produce. With the impact COVID-19 has had on the arts sector we felt it was important to waive all registration fees to make the conference as accessible as possible. We also made it possible to donate when you register so if you have the capacity and desire to do so, you can. Whatever you can meaningfully contribute, we will deeply appreciate. Thanks for your support for this conference programming!

The Self-Care: This conference is overflowing with amazing sessions, incredible speakers, and highly interactive moments. If you look at this schedule and are nervous about making it to all the sessions you want while also juggling Zoom fatigue and all the life responsibilities 2020 has piled on top of you -- it's okay. We understand. Many of the sessions will be recorded and made available after the fact. We recommend focusing on the interactive sessions and experiences you want to have.

That's all for now, but we'll have more updates soon!

One State is brought to you by Arts Alliance Illinois, in partnership with Illinois Arts Council Agency (IACA), and with generous funding from IACA and the National Endowment of the Arts.
