The work for SITTING IT OUT has been created during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, save and except for 4 paintings that were painted previously yet included to complete the series. My work is derived from live model sessions or composites of different ones. While we all find ourselves restricted and less active, I felt a sense of introspection and new meaning in the stillness and anticipation of the subjects. Some compositions were created in response to a newspaper article, political upheaval or explorations of my own psychic imagination.
