Saturday Mornings

Saturday, Apr 9 – 30, 2022

Positive Space Studio hosts the upcoming exhibition “Saturday Mornings” that runs from April 9th to April 30th, 2022. Positive Space Studio is the first gallery to provide emerging artist Sabrina Lozada with a solo exhibition focused on her multimedia practice centered on the subject of nostalgia through texture.

Lozada previously focused on graphic and fashion design, during which she discovered textile art as a way to marry her two passions. Her work is inspired by her childhood, telling stories, and things that bring joy. As a result of connecting those different disciplines that she’d learned over her career into a specific and unique style. Lozada’s professional career took off in Chicago where she obtained her bachelor’s degree and connected with the curator of the exhibition, Alexandria Knapik, who helped her develop her first solo exhibition.

Some of the important themes that are being highlighted are Lozada’s connection to memory through her senses, the power of pop culture, and the role of nostalgia in daily life. The exhibition is expected to be popular and engaging as over 50 RSVPs have already been collected for the opening.

The exhibition Saturday Mornings will open this April on April 9th and stay open until April 30th, RSVP’s for the opening are available on Eventbrite and to visit during the month through emailing oddoneoutchicago@gmail.com.

Support for Saturday Mornings is collected through crowdsourcing on Eventbrite.
