HY-MAY ] + KING ART COLLECTIVE are pleased to announce the opening of Six Paintings, an exhibition of six large-scale landscape paintings by Joseph Reich.
The opening reception will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at 2401 W. Ohio Street [ STOREFRONT ] in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood. The Reception is free and open to the public.
Reich studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Maryland Institute College of Art. For 12 years, he maintained a gallery and studio in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood, where this body of work was created. Reich relocated to Red Hook at the end of 2025, where he continues to develop and expand his work. Six Paintings is a farewell to Chicago — the city where his practice took root.
Reich creates large-scale landscape paintings grounded in sustained observation and distinguished by the rigorous physical process of their production.
The exhibition is on view by appointment following the opening reception.
