Perspective Gallery’s February exhibition is a solo show by Stephanie Taiber

Stephanie Taiber’s series titled, Resonance, was Inspired by – and very much in conversation with – writings by Virginia Woolf. The images reference moments and rhythmic patterns of self-reflection that take shape throughout a woman’s lifetime. A natural oscillation repeats itself between intimacy and aloofness, longing and withdrawal, time and space, then and now. According to Taiber, “Chronology is of little importance in this interior space. Here, emotional fluctuations resonate through a stream of consciousness and come to shape self-perception, just as energy passing through water becomes recognizable as a wave. They inform one another by perpetually reimagining the past while moving with anticipation into an expansive future. Simultaneously bearing the weight of ephemerality and the lift of possibility, ‘being’ is the endless effort to find the balance between upheaval and rapture.”
