Take Care with Art After Dark

Slow Dance, Music, and Art Making

Wednesday, October 21, 6–7:30 pm

FREE virtual program • Register for link

Join the Smart Museum of Art for a virtual gathering that mixes art inquiry, music sharing, and communal art making.

Led by Mayra Cecilia Palafox, this program is inspired by Slow Dance by Kerry James Marshall, a painting that is included in our current exhibition Take Care. As we make close observations, discuss his process of color mixing, the mood of the painting, and the two figures, we will also think of what songs come to mind and how that makes us feel. There will be space to share our artworks, process, and listen to music as we spend time together.
