Tapestry: Susan Hall and Marissa Voytenko

This is Susan Hall's debut at Addington Gallery. Susan's ambitious paintings express her love for nature and the animal kingdom, and place this love in the context of the domestic, evoked by the lace impression surfaces she uses as the ground of her compositions. 

Marissa's detailed, intricate encaustic surfaces bring a beautiful sense of order to her explorations in color and texture. Marissa has a unique and sensitive approach to the medium of encaustic. 

Susan's and Marissa's paintings hang alongside each other beautifully, each offering a comfortable place to slow down, rest, and meditate. Both of these artists are experimenting with process, texture, pattern, and surface, and are creating highly evocative work.
