Virtual Artists’ Talk: The 8th annual Chicago Vicinity Exhibition

The 8th annual Chicago Vicinity Exhibition opens noon July 3rd at Perspective Gallery in Evanston. The opening reception and award announcements will be on July 12th, 5-7 p.m. followed by a virtual artist talk on July 24th, 7. 

The Vicinity 2025 juror is Erin Hoyt, an arts administrator specializing in contemporary photography. She is the Executive Director of Filter Photo, a non-profit arts organization based in Chicago that focuses on professional development practices for fine art and documentary photographers. 

Each of the exhibiting artists has a different take on the theme HOME. There is a wide range of visual interpretations on the idea of what represents home. Congratulations to 23 artists who will be showing their work:

Pamela Allen, Elijah Barnes, Reeves Beckley, John Bolin, David Brodsky, Sam Burzak, Larry Chait, Stephen Clay, Amanda Colon, Riley Curtis, Maria Finitzo, Alan Leder, Lucy Mueller, Patrick Pagnono, Warren Perlstein, Dorothy Perry, Darlene Poloniak, Carolyn Potts, Joan Tortorici Ruppert, Ryan Searl, Claire Shoolin, Benjamin Tholotowsky, and Becki Utigard.

Perspective Gallery is celebrating its 15th year. Vicinity 2025 will have a Closing Reception on Sunday, July 27th from 3 - 5 p.m. This reception also will be a fifteen-year gallery anniversary party and public reception for Perspective Gallery.
