The much-loved triangle of public land known as Wicker Park, the neighborhood’s namesake, will be the site of the second annual Wicker Park Fine Art Fair on Saturday, September 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The purpose behind this art fair is to create a space for artists and the public to interact. “There are so many people making really good art in Chicago, but there is a chasm between the physical places they can show their work,” says Mariottini. “I want the Wicker Park Fine Art Fair to be a place between a white-box gallery and a street festival, where the focus is truly on the quality of the art.” Visitors can expect a low-key atmosphere with no performance stages, beer tents, or parades just artists with their art.
