Friends Garden Lecture

Most woody plants grow best in full sun, but some will tolerate and even thrive in shade. We will be looking at shade tolerant shrubs and trees that also have multi-season interest.

About the Speaker:

David Wanninger is the Horticulturist-in-Charge at Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners.  He is a longtime horticulture instructor at Blackhawk Technical College and pairs his academic career with horticulture career.  His experience spans retail garden center management, landscape management and was a horticulturist at Beaver Creek Nursery and Klehm’s Song Sparrow Farm.  Dave embraces a large plant palette, but particularly favors hostas, peonies and dwarf conifers in his home garden.
