Christopher Art Gallery at Prairie State College


Five professional exhibitions per academic year, including top Chicago area and Midwestern artists in every media.

We hold three student exhibitions each year by our college students, as well as one regional high school exhibition yearly.

Exhibited artists have included: Dawoud Bey, John Pitman Weber, Joseph Jachna, Margaret Wharton, Gladys Nilsson, Sergio Gomez, Terry Evans, Reginald Baylor, Eleanor Spiess-Ferris, Ehren Tool, Donna June Katz, Allison Svoboda and many others.

Opening reception times vary by exhibition. We also feature additional programming, such as  visiting artists, and other events, during our exhibitions. 

2019:

January 2–24: Dreaming, works by Reginald Coleman, Clark Ellithorpe, Anne Hughes, Teresa Pankratz and Jim Waid. Reception Jan 16, 11:30–2pm

February 4–28: Impact (socially engaged art addressing climate issues) Works by Brad Temkin, Cydney M. Lewis and The Coral Project by Helen Dannelly and Sandy Miot. Reception Feb 6, 11:30–2pm

March 11–April 3: Annual High School Exhibition of area high schools

April 22–May 22: Spring Student Show

June 3–26: Works from the PSC photo collection

July 2–25: National Parks Project, works by Beth Shadur, reception and artist talk, July 10, 11:30–2pm
