Christopher Art Gallery at Prairie State College

Due to the COVID-19 virus, Prairie State College moved to a virtual campus and the Christopher Art Gallery is closed at this time. Our current exhibitions through summer are virtual only, and we will resume actual physical exhibitions beginning on September 20, with our exhibition, Biomorphic.

Christopher Art Gallery features eight exhibitions per year, featuring regional and national artists in five exhibitions, and works by students in three exhibitions.

Each fall, a show highlights the portfolio of a PSC student designated as “Photographer of the Year.” Artists exhibited have included Dawoud Bey, Joseph Jachna, Terry Evans, Gladys Nilsson, Eleanor Spiess-Ferris, Nnenna Okore, Reginald Baylor and John Pitman Weber.

We host a yearly visiting artist to make a public presentation on his or her work. We are members of Southland Arts and participate in their festivals and events.

Please check our website for our upcoming exhibitions.

We also feature programming such as visiting artists and other events, during our exhibitions.
