Christopher Art Gallery at Prairie State College

Due to the COVID-19 virus, Prairie State College has moved to a virtual campus and the Christopher Art Gallery is closed at this time. All of our exhibits until summer 2021 will be virtual, and we hope to show the same artists in actual physical exhibitions next year!

Christopher Art Gallery features eight exhibitions per year, featuring regional and national artists in five exhibitions, and works by students in three exhibitions.

Each fall, a show highlights the portfolio of a PSC student designated as “Photographer of the Year.” Artists exhibited have included Dawoud Bey, Joseph Jachna, Terry Evans, Gladys Nilsson, Eleanor Spiess-Ferris, Nnenna Okore, Reginald Baylor and John Pitman Weber.

We host a yearly visiting artist to make a public presentation on his or her work. We are members of Southland Arts and participate in their festivals and events.

Please check our website for our upcoming virtual exhibitions.

We also feature programming such as visiting artists and other events, during our exhibitions.
