After founding her eponymous gallery in Seattle in 2012, Mariane Ibrahim inaugurated a space in Chicago in 2019, affirming her commitment to an ambitious, international artistic program. In September 2021, she opened her first European venue in Paris, followed in February 2023 with a third space in Mexico City.
Since its creation, the gallery has successfully supported established and emerging artists such as Amoako Boafo, Clotilde Jiménez, Eva Jospin, Ayana V. Jackson, Zohra Opoku, and more recently, Lorraine O’Grady. Present at the most prestigious contemporary art fairs worldwide, the gallery has distinguished itself with award-winning presentations, attesting to the quality of its programming and the recognition it inspires within the art world.
The mission of Mariane Ibrahim, a Franco-Somali art dealer and gallerist, is to champion and promote the diversity of global artistic practices, with a particular focus on Africa and its diaspora. In 2016, she appeared on Artnet’s list of promising art dealers under 40. In 2022, she was included in ArtReview’s list of the 100 most influential figures in the art world today. She has also been featured in various media, including FT, WSJ, Le Monde, Marie Claire, Vogue, and Kinfolk.
